In House Screen Printing Services
Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a mesh to support a stencil to receive the desired image. The stencil creates open areas of mesh that transfer ink onto a substrate. A squeegee is moved across the screen, pushing ink through the mesh. Basically, it is the process of using a mesh stencil to apply ink onto a substrate, t-shirts, posters, stickers, vinyl, wood, or other material.
Types of Screen Printing
Plastisol inks are the most common type of inks used in garment printing. They do not dry on the screen and are easy to print making them the most approachable type of ink. Plastisol inks also come in a variety of special effects making them extremely versatile. Our standard screen printing is done using plastisol inks. It is efficient and allows the client tons of flexibility when it comes to print type, color, thickness, etc. We can accommodate most special effects or additives you wish to add to the design.
Water-base inks are popular with clients looking for solid details without the heavy hand feel that plastisol inks are known for.
Discharge is the process of bleaching the pigment of the garment while the ink color penetrates into the garment. Think of it as essentially re-dying the fabric. Discharge offers and super soft hand feel on darker shirts and after being wash there is no hand feel at all. Printing with discharge inks require 100% cotton garments and works well with vintage, distressed artwork. Due to how different pigments react with discharge ink, 100 percent pantone matching cannot be guaranteed.
